Situated in the city of Ulyanovsk, Russia, on the beautiful Volga River, Ulyanovsk State University is one of the largest public research universities. Located about 440 miles away from Moscow, the institution stands out as one of the biggest research universities in Russia, servicing about 16,000 students majoring in 68 different fields within 6 colleges.

Founded in 1988, Ulyanovsk State University was the first university in Russia to participate in the Bologna Process, thereby confirming the vector of educational reform and high academic standards inherent in the institution. Today, it has a highly qualified faculty, with 1,238 members, most of whom hold either a doctorate or an advanced degree, providing a full range of learning opportunities from full-time to part-time, external, and distance education programs.
